Let's Eat! No, Let's Color! No, Let's Eat!

A few years ago I discovered chalkboard fabric...what a brilliant invention. In case you haven't heard of it, this is actually a fabric you can sew with and has the texture of a chalkboard so you can write on it with chalk. It comes in green and black and all I can wonder is...why didn't someone think of this sooner? I created these fun placemats for my niece and nephews and the reverse side is made of chalkboard fabric...unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to get a picture of that side. Trust me though, they were so excited to not only have the chalkboard side, but to have the personalized placemat with a design that is unique to each of them. Something they like, and not just the run of the mill kid's placemat you find at the store. For the cups, I found these plastic cups at Hobby Lobby that have paper inserts for kids to color. I just tossed the paper insert and embroidered a matching piece of fabric with each of their names. Now it's a set....and they each got one for their birthdays!!

Chic Chicks

I love to embroider, so when I had the chance to get in on a towel swap with the girls from
Julia's Needle Designs, I jumped at it . JND has some great designs and since I love chickens
and roosters, I decided to do some really fun towels with her Chic Chicks! How cute are these. Don't you think the colors really pop on these black towels. I hope the girl I am swapping with loves them as much as I do!

My First Birthday Shirt !

A First Birthday deserves special attention! This is the shirt I embroidered for Charlton's big day! It was a great day and he was kind enough to pose for the picture without fussing. We had a great party and of course he got ton's of presents. As the grandma, I wish there was a way to keep them at this wonderful age.

Now you have to see the amazing cake his mother made. She is multi-talented as she can decorate cakes this beautifully and sew as well. What little boy wouldn't be thrilled with a cake like this. Great job, Laura!

Welcome to My Blog!

Welcome to my blog, Stitch Daily! I want to share some of the projects that I start and many that I actually finish. Sometimes my mind works faster than my fingers and I can't keep up with my own ideas. I don't suppose anyone else does that. :)

I love to sew in every way possible! I love to create new items from nothing more than fabric and thread. I sew fun things for my grandchildren, beautiful things for home, and would love to sew more clothes than I actually do. I began sewing as a little girl under the direction of my grandmother. She had the patience only a grandmother could have. She also taught me to knit, do needlepoint, and craft just about everything we could think of.

About two years ago I bought an embroidery machine and fell quickly in love with machine embroidery. I will be sharing many projects that I have done in that area.

I also create a line of children's products with my daughter Jennifer. We own Carseat Couture and make infant and toddler's car seat covers and shopping cart covers. We also make stroller liners, highchair covers, and more. We are always thinking of a new product to add to our line.

We stay very busy with all of that sewing, but we both still find time to sew for ourselves and others we love. Please visit often, I would love to share ideas and get inspiration from those of you who love to sew as much as I do.
The picture is of my granddaughter Brooke with a backpack that I embroidered and Jenni put together. How cute is that little cowgirl!
